How do I make a purchase from Clarendon Medical ?

When you have found what you want (for search methods click on "How do I find the title I want?")  click on the title or image to bring up the full entry. To add the item to your 'shopping basket' simply click 'Add to Basket'.  Click on 'checkout' to complete your purchase, or continue browsing to add further items. Before going to checkout make sure you have selected your preferred delivery method.

What sort of products can I buy from Clarendon Medical ?

Books, Diagnostic Instruments and Anatomical Models and Charts. Catalogues are available to post out for non-book items. 

In Ireland there is no VAT on books. Equipment is taxed at the standard 21%.

Please note that we do not sell the following:

  • Clarendon Medical does not sell second hand books or purchase used ones
  • All books are the most recently available editions. Old editions are not stocked.

How do I add to my shopping basket ?

To add to your shopping basket click 'add to basket' in the full entry for your chosen title.  To delete items in your basket tick the item you wish to remove and click the 'delete' button. The number on order may be altered using the quantity box.

How do I track the progress of my order?

Registered users of ClarendonMedical.com can track the progress of their order by clicking on the "MY ORDERS" link at the top of the screen.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, your order may be cancelled at any time prior to dispatch: please notify us as soon as possible by e-mail, telephone or fax. If your order has already been dispatched you can return it following the procedures shown in 'Can I return my order?' below.

Can I return my order?

Any order supplied by us can be returned for exchange or credit note within 1(one) month of purchase with the original receipt if they are unused or unworn. Please notify us before doing so and include a note with a details of the reason for return. Crediting will not include postal charges. If goods supplied are defective(misprinted/misnumbered pages) or damaged in transit, or are not the goods that were ordered, they can be replaced or their full value refunded including both original carriage costs and costs incurred while returning them. This does not affect your statutory rights.

What are your opening hours ?

Opening Hours are 9:30am to 6pm Monday - Saturday. 7pm on Thursday.

What are your delivery charges?

Parcels which are less than 1kg and match the size of a letterbox will be sent and charged rates consistent with An Post rates.
Parcels over 1kg will be sent by NPX couriers. For courier delivery a signature is required on delivery. A phone number is also necessary.
Please contact us for delivery charges outside Ireland.

How quickly will my order arrive ?

If the books are currently in stock, your order will be dispatched within 24 hours. If the books are out of stock delivery time varies from 10-14 days. Please note sometimes publishing circumstances can extend delivery times past an expected date.

Is it safe to use my credit or debit card ? 

You need have no worries about credit card security when shopping at our site. Our secure - server system uses the latest encryption technology to ensure that all personal details confided to us are safe in transit. Credit card information, once received, is stored on a server which cannot be accessed from the internet.

What type of payments do you accept?

We accept all major credit/debit cards, cheques, book tokens and Clarendon Medical Gift Certificate/Vouchers. As well as credit card orders via the web-site, you can place orders via post (paper mail), fax or phone.

We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and all bank authorized Laser Cards.

When you have filled your shopping basket click 'checkout'. If you have not already logged in you will be asked to enter your e-mail address and password. When you have filled in your personal details you will be connected to the  orderline form. Select your preferred payment method and click 'Continue my order' to be connected to our secure server. Only then will you be asked to enter your credit card details.

 Paying without entering credit card details via internet. 

You can pay for your purchases using a credit or debit card without committing your details to the internet. In the orderline form (reached by clicking checkout) select an alternative payment option. An order form will now be displayed. Fill in your payment details (Book Token, Cheque or Clarendon Medical Gift Certificates/Vouchers). Print off and dispatch by fax or post (paper mail) as appropriate. We will act on receipt of your order . Your Customer ID  and Sale ID will be sent to your E-mail address, and will enable you to check on the progress of your order. If you prefer not to use our secure payment server for credit card orders, be sure to enter a phone number where we can contact you for payment details.

How do I find the title I want ?

Search boxes will be found at the top of most pages on the site. Enter a keyword or words in the box and click 'Go'. Keywords entered can be from either the title or the author's name or from both,  e.g. Catcher Salinger should find 'The Catcher in the Rye' by J.D. Salinger.

  • ISBN Search
    If you know the ISBN (International Standard Book Number) of the title you are looking for, enter it in the ISBN/code box and click 'Search' (an ISBN will have 10 digits, but other codes with up to 13 characters may be entered). An ISBN search will find only the title uniquely identified by that number.
  • Search by other features
    If you do not know the ISBN of the title you are looking for, you can search for it using keywords(s) in the following fields:  Title, Author, Publisher, Classification, Series and Descriptive text. You need not use more than one of these fields. Using several fields will narrow down your search, but bear in mind that if any one of your keywords is wrong the system will fail to find a match, even if the others are correct.  A combination of keywords in the Author and Title fields is enough for most specific searches.

How do I create an account?

To process your orders, we need to set up an account for you first. Having an account will enable you to place orders faster and more easily and track your orders online. Your e-mail address and password are the keys to your Customer Account; they must be entered before any information can be accessed.

You can create your account either at Checkout or in advance, if more convenient. Here's how:

  • When you have finished shopping and are ready to check out, you'll be prompted to Create your Account. (Or, before you shop, you can click on the My Details link at the header of every page and go directly to Your Account. There you will see the opportunity to register and Create your Account.)
  • Next you will be prompted to enter your email address in the field provided as well as a password and password hint. (If you ever forget your password there is a link here to help you, - or just contact us if this happens).
  • When you've finished shopping and are ready to go to Checkout, you may be asked to enter your email address and password again, if you haven't already done so.
  • On the order form, you will be connected to our secure server to enter your billing and credit card information. We will save this information for you in your account so that your next purchase will be even quicker.

How do I change my password and e-mail address ?

Click 'My Details' in header. In login form enter your e-mail address and password. If you have already logged in enter your password only and click 'Login'. In the profile screen change your e-mail address and password. When you have completed your changes click 'Update' to confirm alterations.

Can I change my communication address?

Yes. You can. Click 'My Details' in header. Enter your login details. In the profile screen, you can change your communication address, your currency and also your login details. When you have finished your changes click 'Update' to update into our database.

Why did I get 'No Items Found!' ?  Is there something wrong with my Search?

This message might be displayed for any of the following reasons.

  • Some terms are excluded from searches, viz.
    • Any single character
    • Any of the following words:  And, are, as, at, for, in, is, it, of, on, the, this, was, with
  • You may have used the ISBN for an old edition. Search again using keywords.
  • There are no titles in print matching your keywords.
